Rajnandgaon (Devanagari) is the primary town of Rajnandgaon district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. The city's population is 143727 (2001 census). It came into existence on January 26, 1973, through the division of the district Durg.Rajnandgaon railway station is on the Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line. The station comes under Nagpur Division of SECR. National Highway 6 (Great Eastern Road) also passes through the city of Rajnandgaon. The nearest airport to the district is around 80 km in Mana (Raipur).
